Bhatt sir has been my secret Santa all through these years.

 

We have been associated since the past five years and its not just limited to the place where we were introduced.

 

We have continued bonding over various occasions even beyond college

 

.A vivid recollection of how we met :

I remember entering the room on the fifth floor of my college , the interview room where sir came on every Wednesday.

That morning as I was in 211 heading to college , very hesitantly I called sir to take an appointment.

Was I over reacting to situations that life threw at me I pondered.

Was I really in need of counselling ....

Somehow I mustered the courage to call him and take an appointment.

 

11.30 was the time allotted to me.

Like a nervous wreck I entered the room, exchanged greetings.

Sir asked me to sit. I obeyed.

I was more nervous than even writing an entrance exam. 

 

Preconceived notions hovering my mind. What would sir think of me.

How could I tell him about my family problems.

Such a lot dilemma I was going through.

 

For a second I thought I should take sir's leave and go back to class.

 

Phew......As the session progressed , I eased down a little ...then a little more ....

 

Finally I was comfortable but still could not stop playing with my ID card that hung around my neck. " Stop being so nervous " he said.

 

At the end of the two hour long session I was a different person

altogether.

 

It was sir who told me that it was just alright to be like the way I am.

It was he who told me to start loving myself.

To discover myself.

 

After being counselled by him I became better at handling relationships both personally and in college.

He has been a guiding light to me ever since I have known him.

 

There are not many who make justice to the profession of a counsellor more so because they enforce their thoughts upon the client.

But Bhatt sir has always promoted independent thinking. ''What do u feel ?" , he would often ask me.

 

That makes one analyze and make decisions.

 

I would like to tell all those who reading this article that Bhatt sir is beyond a mere counsellor.

He is my friend, philosopher, guide.
